Book Corners data and many of its images are free to reuse. This page explains what you can reuse, under which licence, and how to credit it. The Contributor Agreement explains what contributors grant to Book Corners. This page is for everyone else who wants to reuse what Book Corners publishes.
1. The database
The Book Corners database is published under the Open Data Commons Open Database License (ODbL) 1.0. You can copy, share and adapt it, including for commercial use, as long as you credit the source and share any public derivative database under the same licence.
You can get the data through the Book Corners API or as a complete bulk download. Credit both Book Corners and OpenStreetMap contributors, for example:

2. Images
Images are licensed separately from the database. Each image has its own licence and credit, shown on the library page and returned by the API and the bulk download.
Images shared by Book Corners contributors
Images that contributors shared under the Contributor Agreement are available under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 (CC BY-SA 4.0). When you reuse one, credit the author by their Book Corners username, link to the licence and say if you changed the image. For example:

Images from external sources
Some images come from other websites or projects. They belong to their original authors and are not covered by the CC BY-SA 4.0 licence above. When a source link is available, it shows where to find the original image and the terms that apply to it.
Images without licence information
When an image shows no licence, Book Corners has no licence information for it. Check the source link if there is one, or contact the original author.
3. Hosting images
You are welcome to download contributor images and serve them from your own hosting. Please do not link directly to image files on bookcorners.org, because the site runs on limited resources.
This is a request about how you use the service. It does not add any condition to the CC BY-SA 4.0 licence.
4. For image authors
If you are the author of an image on Book Corners, you can contact us about it, for example to update the credit or to have the image removed. Write to [email protected] and include a link to the library page where the image appears.
5. Changes to this page
This page may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be published here with an updated revision date.
